PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley senior forward Chris Cutshaw has earned the first Bradley Athletics Performance of the Week for the 2009-10 academic year.

Cutshaw scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute, leading the soccer team to a 2-1 victory at Northern Illinois Tuesday night.  The Missouri Valley Conference active leader with 23 career goals, Cutshaw moved into a tie for first place among the league's active players with 53 career points.

Cutshaw and the Braves will return to action Friday night at 10 p.m. when they host Memphis in the NSCAA Game of the Week, a nationally-televised game on Fox Soccer channel sponsored by The Hotels at Grand Prairie.  The Braves will wrap up play in the Busey Bank Kickoff Festival Sunday night when they host Mercer in a 7 p.m. game at Shea Stadium.  Click the Free Ticket ad at the top of this webpage to receive a coupon for a free ticket to Friday's game against Memphis.

The weekend tournament will serve as a homecoming of sorts for two Mercer team members:  second-year head coach Brad Ruzzo was a Bradley assistant from 2000-07 and graduate assistant coach Mike Haynes was a four-year letterwinner for the Braves and the starting goalkeeper during Bradley's 2007 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight run.
