PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior guard Renee Frericks (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Women's Basketball team to a 74-62 victory against Northern Iowa last week.
Frericks made 3-of-6 three-point shots as she helped the Braves shoot a season-best 55.6 percent from three-point range and finished with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting against the Panthers. She also added three rebounds, a team-high four assists, one blocked shot and a steal in 32 minutes of play. A mathematics secondary education major, Frericks owns a 3.92 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Frericks and the Braves return to action Friday when they face preseason Valley favorite and conference leading Creighton at 7:05 p.m. in Omaha, Neb.
