PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after finishing third and helping lead the Bradley women's golf team to a second-place finish at last week's Spider Invitational in Midlothian, Va.
Neufeld shot rounds of 75 and 73 during the opening day of play and entered Tuesday's final round in second place in the individual standings. She carded a final-round 77 to finish third overall with a 54-hole score of 225. Neufeld earned Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors after her performance and finished the fall ranked second in the MVC with a 75.6 stroke average. An english major, Neufeld owns a 3.36 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Neufeld and the Braves are scheduled to open their spring season Feb. 21 & 22 at the Lady Moc Invitational in Lakeland, Fla.
