PEORIA, Ill. -- Defending NCAA Division III national champion Washington (Mo.) will visit Renaissance Coliseum Saturday, as the Bradley women's basketball team wraps up the exhibition season with a 2:05 p.m. game against the Bears. The Braves posted a 90-80 victory against Quincy Monday night in the exhibition opener for both teams.
Sophomore guard Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) scored 23 points to lead the Braves Monday against Quincy, while senior Raisa Taylor (Decatur, Ill./Eisenhower) had 16 points and a game-high seven assists. Bradley scored 52 second-half points, with Taylor going 4-for-4 from the field and collecting 12 points, five boards, four assists and three steals in the second half.
Junior Leah Kassing (Mt. Sterling, Ill./Brown County) had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and junior Latasha Hollingshed (Bellwood, Ill./St. Joseph/Illinois Central) added 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. The duo helped Bradley to a 56-41 rebounding edge and the Braves scored 52 points in the paint against the Hawks in the first of two exhibition games.
Washington returns 14 letterwinners, including two starters, from last year's team which finished with a 29-2 record and claimed the school's fifth NCAA Division III national championship. Saturday's game is the only exhibition game on the slate for the Bears which open the regular season Monday, Nov. 15 at home against Fontbonne. Washington is ranked #3 in the nation according to the DIII News preseason poll.

The Braves open the regular season Saturday, Nov. 13 against Butler (2:05 p.m.) at Renaissance Coliseum and play two of the first three games of the 2010-11 season at home. Bradley will face Illinois Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:05 p.m.
