PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after earning all-tournament honors at last week's Cancun Thanksgiving Classic.
Yohn averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1/0 block and 3.5 steals per game, while helping the Bradley women's basketball team to a 1-1 record at the Cancun Thanksgiving Classic. She returned to the court Friday against William & Mary after missing two games due to injury and had 11 points, one assist and five steals in the victory. Yohn had 14 points, four boards, three assists, two blocks and two steals in a loss to Arizona Saturday. A medical technology major, Yohn owns a 3.18 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Yohn and the Braves return to action tonight when they close out a season-long, four-game road swing with a 7:05 p.m. game at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The game will be broadcast in the Peoria area on WIRL 1290 AM with Ed Hammond and Joe Stowell calling the action.
