PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore guard Hanna Muegge (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Bradley Women's Basketball team to a 1-1 record last week.
Muegge averaged 11.0 points per game, while shooting 66.7 percent and was 5-for-7 (71.4 percent) from three-point range in a pair of games. She also averaged 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per outing as the Braves finished the first-half of Missouri Valley Conference play tied for third place. Muegge scored a career-high 19 points, including 14 in the second-half, to help Bradley rally for a come-from-behind victory against Indiana State. She was 5-for-5 from the field and knocked down four three-pointers while also adding two assists and a steal in the victory against the Sycamores. Muegge had three points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 26 minutes against I-74 rival Illinois State Sunday. A biology major, Muegge owns a 3.79 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Muegge and the Braves return to action Friday when they open a three-game road swing with a 7:05 p.m. game at Evansville.
