AUBURN, Ala. -- Junior Coby Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) shot a pair of 78's Monday to pace the Braves as the Bradley men's golf team finished third at the 2010 Tiger Shootout at the par-72 AU Club. Thompson finished eighth in the field at 156 to lead Bradley.
Senior Zach Wanken (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) tied for 13th in the field at 165 after carding rounds of 81 and 84. Fellow senior Zach Zobrist (Morton, Ill./Peoria Christian) turned in rounds of 88 and 85 to finish eight shots behind Wanken in 15th place (173) , while freshman Corey Verseman (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) was 16th in the field at 180 following scores of 92 and 88. Junior Nathan Perry (Normal, Ill./Normal West) rounded out play with scores of 98 and 93 to finish 17th overall at 191.
Tournament-host Auburn took the team title with a 36-hole score of 592 as the Tigers were led Will McCurdy's even-par 144. Louisiana-Monroe was second in the team standings at 629 and the Braves followed in third place at 674.
Bradley returns to action March 29 & 30 at the Beu Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Ill.
