PEORIA, Ill. - Wichita State earned victories in all nine matches Saturday afternoon en route to a 7-0 Missouri Valley Conference sweep over Bradley at the Markin Tennis Courts.
The Shockers opened the dual by taking all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. At the No. 1 spot, Stephanie Dalmacio/Delia Damaschin defeated junior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) and senior Emily Regenold (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton H.S.) 8-4, while Florentina Hanisch/Lenore Lazaroiu topped seniors Kelly Donohue (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) and Jessica Buterbaugh (Paradise Valley, Ariz./Chaparral H.S.) at the No. 2 spot 8-3.
Lily Wakim/Jasmine Carpen completed the doubles sweep for Wichita State with a victory over freshmen Kennedy Scott (Calgary, Alberta/National Sports School) and Brigitte Graf (Double Oak, Texas/Faustina Academy) at the No. 3 spot 8-5.
At No. 1 singles, Dalmacio defeated Miller in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. Lazaroiu topped Regenold at the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-4, while Damaschin beat Donohue 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot. Buterbaugh dropped her No. 4 singles match to Hanisch 6-2, 6-2 and Wakim clipped Scott at the No. 5 spot 6-2, 7-5. The Shockers finished 9-for-9 with a victory at No. 6 singles as Carpen handled Graf 6-1, 6-1.
Bradley (5-12, 0-4 MVC) will play its final home match of the season Sunday, April 11 against Creighton at 10 a.m.
