PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's golfer Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) and Bradley women's golf head coach Bo Ryan will serve as part of a panel at the NCAA's 20th Title IX/Gender Equity and Issues Forums which will be held April 25-27 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort in Oak Brook, Ill.
Neufeld and Ryan have been invited to be part of the NCAA panel session focusing on Female International Student-Athletes: Challenges and Opportunities in Intercollegiate Athletics.
The purpose of the session is to increase awareness surrounding the current landscape of female international student-athletes and present strategies to enhance the participation numbers in the Association's colleges and universities. The panel will provide an overview of the present landscape and share effective strategies that diminish challenges and enhance opportunities. Participants will receive specific information on non-traditional sport participation, recruiting, and useful cultural competencies for success.
A native of Coaldale, Alberta, Neufeld earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 2009-10 after ranking third in the MVC with a school-record 76.1 stroke average. A three-time MVC Golfer of the Week selection, she was Bradley's top finisher in six events and ranks fourth in school history with a 79.0 career stoke average.
Ryan recently finished up his 13th season as head coach of the Bradley women's golf team. A two-time MVC Coach of the Year he has led the Braves to four Missouri Valley Conference titles during his tenure. Bradley's roster has featured seven international students during Ryan's time as head coach of the Bradley women's golf program.
