PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore women's golfer Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Tuesday after tying for fifth at last week's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Amundrud earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors and was Bradley's top finisher at the 2010 State Farm MVC Women's Golf Championship last week in Newburgh, Ind.  She carded rounds of 78, 74 and 75 to pace the Braves and tie for fifth in the field at 227.  Amundrud finished eight shots behind individual medalist Olivia Lansing of Drake and was five shots back of second place finisher Laura Harris from Illinois State.  An accounting major, Amundrud owns a 3.86 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Amundrud is the only player in program history to post two seasons with 19 or more rounds in the 70's and her 76.64 stroke average in 2009-10 ranks as the third best season average in school history.
