PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior women's golfer Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after finishing second at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Collegiate Classic.

Neufeld was Bradley's top finisher in the field and helped the Braves to a second-place team finish behind Drake in BU's only home event of the season.  She shot rounds of 76, 73 and 74 to finish seven shots behind individual medalist Olivia Lansing of Drake at 223 at the par-72 WeaverRidge Golf Club.  Neufeld edged teammate Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) by one shot for second place as Bradley boasted two of the top three individuals.  An English major, Neufeld owns a 3.41 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Neufeld and the Bradley women's golf team return to action April 18-20 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Evansville, Ind.
