PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore women's golfer Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) was named a Second-Team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V selection announced Thursday. Amundrud is the fourth Bradley women's golfer to earn Academic All-District V honors and it marks the fifth consecutive year a member of the women's golf team has earned a spot on the All-District squad.
A First-Team Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete, Amundrud was a First-Team All-Valley performer after tying for fifth at the State Farm MVC Championship. She ranked fourth in the MVC with a 76.64 stroke average and posted four top 10 finishes.
Her 23 rounds in the 70's ranks as the fourth best season total in school history and her 76.64 season stroke average is the third-best scoring average at BU. An accounting major, Amundrud owns a 3.86 cumulative grade point average. She was one of four sophomores elected to the 20-member Academic All-District V teams.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and reached sophomore athletic and academic standings in order to be nominated.
