Red-White Scrimmage Highlights First Week of Soccer Practice

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Soccer team kicked off its preseason camp Monday morning and the Braves will have little preparation before their first public competition, Wednesday night's annual Red-White intrasquad scrimmage at Shea Stadium. 

Wednesday's Red-White Game will be mark the first career appearances on the Shea Stadium field for Bradley's 13 freshmen, who join 15 returning players in preseason camp in advance of the program's 24th NCAA Division I season.  The intrasquad scrimmage will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be free to the public.  The Braves will be available for autographs on the field following the game.

The 2010 Braves will face outside competition for the first time Saturday when they take on Michigan State in 6 p.m. exhibition match in Grand Rapids, Mich., then will open the regular season with five consecutive games away from home, beginning with a three-game East Coast swing to St. Peter's (Sept. 1), Fairfield (Sept. 3) and Delaware (Sept. 5).  After playing in Evansville's ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic Sept. 10-12, Bradley will open its 2010 home schedule Sept. 17-19 by hosting Dartmouth, SMU and Creighton in The Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic at Shea Stadium.
