ST. LOUIS -- Bradley junior midfielder Bryan Gaul (Naperville, Ill/Neuqua Valley H.S.) is one of 11 players to earn preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference honors, according to a poll of the league's eight head coaches released by the conference office today.

Gaul was an honorable mention All-MVC pick last season after scoring 10 points on three goals and four assists.  Although primarily playing in a wide defensive position, Gaul shared Bradley's team lead with four assists.  Heading into the 2010 season, the 6-foot-4 junior is Bradley's active career leader with eight goals and 21 points.

This past summer, Gaul played for the MPS Portland Phoenix in the Premier Development League, helping his team to a second-place finish in the Northeast Division.

Gaul is one of 15 returning lettermen for a Bradley team that has been picked fifth in the new-look, eight-team Valley.  The MVC welcomes two affiliate members in men's soccer - SIU Edwardsville and Central Arkansas. 

Bradley's 13 freshmen joined Gaul and the other Braves veterans for the start of training camp Monday and the team will make its public debut Wednesday night by hosting the annual Red-White Scrimmage at Shea Stadium.  The intrasquad game will kick off at 6 o'clock Wednesday night and admission is free.
