PEORIA, Ill. - The ability to take advantage of the rare defensive miscue proved to be the difference Friday night as Dartmouth (3-1-0) rallied for a 2-1 men's college soccer victory at Bradley (3-2-1) in front of 1,204 fans during the second game of The Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic at Shea Stadium.

In a game that saw the two keepers combine for only one save, the Big Green benefitted from a pair of Bradley defensive miscues in the second half as Colin Skelly scored the equalizer in the 67the minute and Kevin Dzierzawski ripped the game-winner in the 73rd minute.

After a scoreless first half, Bradley took a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute when midfielder Bobby Smith found defender Tommy Fritze's head with a long throw in from the right side.  Leaping close to the near post, Fritze flicked the ball backward, sneaking the shot inside the top left corner for his second tally of the year.

Dartmouth knotted the score on a throw of their own when Bradley keeper Kyle Orne dropped the toss from Walker Linares. Skelly pounced on the loose ball and tapped in the empty netter at 66:30 for his first goal of the season.  Just over six minutes later, Dartmouth played a free kick from the left side of midfield toward the far post.  When the Braves could not get a clean clearance, Dzierzawski took one touch then rocketed a shot from just outside the penalty area for his first goal of the year.

Dartmouth keeper Sean Donovan made the only save of the night in the 83rd minute, but even that was dicey.  Bradley midfielder Christian Meza fired a liner from the top of the box on the right side.  As Donovan tried to slide into position to make the save in his gut, the ball squirted by on his left side and caromed off the post.

In Friday's tournament opener, #18 SMU (6-0-0) rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit against #14 Creighton (4-1-0) and remained untarnished on the season when Arthur Ivo converted a pair of penalty kicks, including the game-winner in the second overtime at 102:38.

All four teams will return to action Sunday afternoon in the final day of The Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic:  Creighton will face Dartmouth in the noon game, followed by Bradley versus SMU at 2:30.  Sunday will by Family/Youth Day at Shea Stadium and the finale between the Braves and Mustangs will be followed by a postgame concert by Christian rock band Hello Industry.
