FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Although Hurricane Earl continues to crawl up the eastern seaboard, the Bradley Soccer team will continue its 3-game, season-opening road trip to the East Coast tonight as scheduled when the Braves (1-0-0) take on host Fairfield (0-1-0) in a 6 p.m. (CST) kickoff Lessing Field.
With Earl predicted to be skirting the coastal regions of Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey by Friday evening, the game between the Braves and Stags will kickoff as scheduled. The current forecast for Fairfield, Conn., calls for a 50 percent chance of showers and winds out of the NNE as 14 miles per hour at kickoff with little change predicted during the course of the game.
Bradley opened the season with a dramatic, 2-1 victory Wednesday at Saint Peter's, as freshman Wojciech Wojcik netted the game-winner in the 89th minute and junior keeper Kyle Orne stuffed a potential tying penalty kick just 11 seconds later. Fairfield, meanwhile, is coming off a 2-0 loss to Albany in its opener Wednesday night at Lessing Field.
