Box Score
NEWARK, Del. - Freshman forward Toni Ramadani (Washington, Ill./Washington H.S.) scored the game's only goal in the 39th minute and junior goalkeeper Kyle Orne (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista H.S.) came through with five saves in a shutout performance, lifting Bradley to a 1-0 non-conference soccer victory Sunday afternoon at Delaware.
The Braves (2-0-1) completed their season-opening, 3-game East Coast road trip undefeated, following up Wednesday's 2-1 win at Saint Peter's with a 2-2 draw Friday at Fairfield and Sunday's 1-0 win against the Blue Hens.
Sunday's lone goal was set up when freshman forward Ross Williams (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) played a diagonal ball to Ramadani at the top right corner of the penalty area. Ramadani beat his defender with a move to the left, then unleashed a left-foot rocket into the top shelf for his first career goal at 38:15.
The hosts turned up the pressure in the second half and finished the game with a 20-8 advantage in shots, but Delaware managed to put only five of those shots on target. Orne was up to the challenge, however, delivering a trio of quality saves down the stretch to preserve the shutout.
Bradley will remain on the road for their next two games by playing in Evansville's ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic next weekend. The Braves will challenge East Tennessee State in Friday's tournament opener and Alabama A&M next Sunday.
