PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley women's basketball head coach Paula Buscher and the Braves Club will host a Pink Zone Reception at noon on Saturday, Feb. 12 prior to BU's 2:05 p.m. game against Creighton. The reception will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the Braves Club Room at Renaissance Coliseum.
Tickets are $15 and include appetizers and admission to the afternoon contest against the Bluejays. Net proceeds from the Pink Zone Reception will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Advance reservations are required and can be made through the Braves Club office at (309) 677-2667.
Speakers at the annual Pink Zone Reception include Buscher, a representative from the Peoria affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Bradley University President Joanne Glasser.
The game against Creighton will mark the eighth annual Pink Zone game for the Braves, who have helped raise nearly $52,000 for breast cancer research and awareness in the previous events. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the Feb. 12 contest against the Bluejays and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free pink Bradley t-shirt. In addition, the first 200 kids 12 and under will receive a Bradley pink basketball.
Coach Buscher will also be extending her Coach's Challenge for the seventh consecutive year. Buscher pledges $25 for every Bradley three-pointer in the game and invites others to take part in her challenge.
