THE GAME
The two teams that met for the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship will return to the scene of their shootout decision Saturday when Bradley hosts SIU Edwardsville in its annual Homecoming game at Shea Stadium ... SIU Edwardsville is in its second year as an affiliate member of The Valley in men's soccer and the Cougars enter Saturday's game third in the league standings with four points, based on their 1-0-1 start ... Bradley will be playing its second Valley game of the season and the Braves are looking for their first league win.
THE SERIES
Saturday's game will be the 10th in the all-time series between Bradley and SIU Edwardsville and the Cougars own a 5-3-1 lead in the series ... SIUE also is 2-1-1 against Bradley in Peoria ... Bradley has had the upper hand in recent series history, however, going 3-1-1 in its last five meetings against the Cougars.
THE COACHES
BRADLEY: The 2007 Soccer America national Coach of the Year, Jim DeRose (Johnson State '89) is in his 16th year as a collegiate head coach, all at Bradley, and enters Saturday's game with a 174-120-33 (.583) career record ... DeRose's 174 victories represent 77.3 percent of the total Bradley victories (225) in program history ... DeRose is 0-1-1 in his career against SIU Edwardsville, but the Braved did prevail in a shootout (4-3) following the draw in last year's State Farm MVC Tournament championship game to earn the league's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
SIUE: Kevin Kalish (Saint Louis '99) is in his fourth year as a collegiate head coach, all at SIU Edwardsville, and he enters Saturday's game with a 27-25-11 (.516) career record..
