PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley men's golf team heads to the Chicagoland area this weekend to take part in the John Dallio Memorial at the par-72 Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Ill., Saturday and Sunday. The Braves will be playing in the tournament for the fifth consecutive year and the sixth time in the eighth annual event overall.
Bradley will be joined in the tournament field by Missouri Valley Conference rivals Drake and Northern Iowa, in addition to in-state non-conference foes DePaul, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Loyola, SIU Edwardsville and Western Illinois. Also participating in the 15-team event are Detroit, Florida Gulf Coast, IUPUI, Marquette, Missouri and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Play is slated to begin Saturday at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start and will include 36 holes. The tournament wraps up Sunday with one round beginning at 7 a.m. with tee times. Live scoring for the tournament will be available at www.golfstat.com
Sophomore Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) had one of his strongest outings of the year at last year's John Dallio Memorial, tying for 31st in the event at 230. Young carded rounds of 79, 77 and 74 to help lead the Braves last year at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.
Freshman Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) led the Braves in their season-opening event last weekend at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill. Trolia fired a one-under par 70 in the final round of his first collegiate tournament to tie for 17th and edge sophomore Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) by one shot for top team honors. Kreiter carded a one-over 72 and tied for 23rd.
Following this weekend's tournament Bradley will take next week off, before returning to the course Oct. 24 & 25 at the SIU Edwardsville Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill.
