PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's golfer Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after tying for 17th at last week's 34th annual Pat Bradley Invitational.
Gorman turned in a career-best 54-hole total of 230 during the three-day event at the par-72 Pelican Preserve Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla. She opened the tournament with back-to-back, career-low rounds of 76 before shooting 78 in the final day en route to her second career top-20 finish and helped the Braves to an eighth-place finish in the field. A dietetics major, Gorman owns a 3.42 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
