PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's basketball team returns home Monday to Renaissance Coliseum to host Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 7 p.m. after completing a season-long, four-game road swing with a 50-45 victory at Northern Illinois Wednesday.
The Braves (4-2 overall) have won back-to-back games for the first time this season and will play the first of back-to-back games against Horizon League opponents Monday when the Panthers travel to Peoria, Ill., for the first time since the 1982-83 season.
BU and UWM (1-3 overall) will be meeting for the third time after the Braves rallied for a 72-70 overtime win in Milwaukee, Wis., last year The Braves and Panthers have split the two previous meetings with both teams pulling out two-point road wins.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee is coming off a 79-66 win at future Bradley opponent Western Illinois Saturday to open a season-lone, five-game road swing. The Panthers have suffered home losses to Big Ten Conference foes Wisconsin and Michigan State in addition to a road loss at Missouri Valley Conference foe Drake.
Monday will be Badge Night at Renaissance Coliseum with local police, fire and EMS receiving $4 admission. Family packs are also available for purchase the day of the game with families of four receiving four tickets along with concession vouchers for four hot dogs and four drinks for $24.
Bradley is off to a 4-2 start to a season for the first time since 2008-09, when the Braves went on to post a program-record 21 victories. BU has five previous starts of 4-2 or better during head coach Paula Buscher's tenure on The Hilltop.
Monday's contest opens another busy stretch for the Braves, who played just one game last week. Beginning with the matchup with UWM, BU will play three games in a six-day span and four games over a nine-day period. Bradley has played the most games in the Missouri Valley Conference and is tied for the league lead in victories with four.
Junior Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) scored a game-high 16 points last time out at Northern Illinois to move into a tie with Kelly Krumwiede for 30th place on the BU career scoring chart. Yohn hit the go-ahead shot with 1:28 to play and made a pair of free throws with 1.1 seconds left to seal the 50-45 win at NIU as the Braves won in DeKalb, Ill., for the first time since Dec. 1995.
