AMES, Iowa - Senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) highlighted the first day of competition at the Iowa State Classic for the Bradley track and field team with a seventh-place finish in the 5,000 meters Friday.
Competing in the 5,000 meters for the first time this season, Fog was seventh in the field with a time of 17:55.90 to finish five seconds out of the top five and 23 seconds behind Bridget Hines of Minnesota-Duluth, who won the race.
In the 3,000 meters, freshman Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) turned in the second fastest time for the Braves this season with a time of 10:28.36. Lohmeier was 18th in the field and her time is 12 seconds behind Mary Goldkamp's (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) team-best time.
Junior Lyndsey Cleghorn (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) cleared a season-best height of 1.57 meters in the high jump and fellow junior Kourtnie Janson (Cambridge, Ill./Cambridge) also had a season-best effort in the same event to help highlight the day one at the Iowa State Classic for the Braves.
