PEORIA, Ill.- The Bradley women's tennis team plays its first home matches of the spring after completing a season-long five-match road swing, hosting Valparaiso (Friday) and IUPUI (Saturday) at the Clubs at River City.
The Braves (1-4 overall) ended their season-long road trip with a pair of losses at Northern Illinois and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill/Glenbard West) picked up a win at #1 singles in straight sets in the match against in-state foe NIU.
Against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, freshman Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) played a part in both Bradley's points in the 5-2 setback vs. the Panthers. She picked up her team-best third victory of the spring at #4 singles and combined with fellow freshman Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) for a win at #2 doubles.
Both Valparaiso (0-3 overall) and IUPUI (0-5 overall) are searching for their first victories of the spring season. The Braves beat Valparaiso 5-2 in last year's matchup, winning four out of six singles matches and two out of three doubles matches. Bradley posted a 5-2 victory against IUPUI last year in Indianapolis, with Miller helping highlight the win with victories in both singles and doubles action.
Both matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts at the Clubs at River City.
