PEORIA, Ill. - Senior Nicole Miller Glendale Heights, Ill. /Glenbard West) picked up her fourth win of the spring and freshman Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) extended her singles win streak to three consecutive matches as the duo helped highlight a hard-fought 5-2 loss to IUPUI Saturday afternoon at the Clubs at River City.
Bradley (2-5 overall) did not go down without a fight. Miller picked up a 7-6, 7-6 win at #1 singles vs. Shelby Hullett, while Henke earned her team-best fifth singles victory of the spring with a 6-3, 6-1 decision at #4 singles against Danielle Haefele.
Freshmen Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) and Ashley Roth (Birmingham, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm) both dropped three-set matches at #3 and #5 singles, respectively.
Henke and McDonagh fell short in an 8-6 loss at #2 doubles and the duo of Miller and freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) lost at #1 doubles by the score of 8-3 as the Jaguars swept the doubles point. IUPUI picked up its first win of the season, improving to 1-4 on the spring.
The Braves return to action Friday, facing IPFW at 7 p.m. and will take on Oakland Saturday at 3 p.m. in Fort Wayne, Ind.
