LAKELAND, Fla. - Senior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) is third in the field and the Bradley women's golf team is fifth overall after 36 holes at the 13th annual Lady Moc Classic, being played Monday and Tuesday at the par-72 Club at Eaglebrooke.
Neufeld finished Monday's action at three-over par 147 after rounds of 74 and 73, to close the day two shots behind individual leader Sandra Changkija (145) of Nova Southeastern. Neufeld moved into a tie with Whitney Cox for fourth in career rounds played (101) and joined Bari Erais and Meaghan LeBlanc as the only players in school history with 60 or more career rounds in the 70's.
Junior Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) extended her streak of sub-80 rounds to 23 with a pair of 78's and is 18th overall at 156. She enters Tuesday's final round of play three shots out of the top 10.
Junior Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) is tied for 36th at 164, carding rounds of 80 and 84, while senior Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) followed up a first round 84 with an 87 in the afternoon to finish Monday's play seven shots behind Gorman in a tie for 51st at 171. Sophomore Natalie Wisniewski (Williamsville, N.Y./South) is in the field as an individual and is tied for 42nd at 166 after firing a pair of 83's.
The Braves finished the opening day of play with a two-round total of 638 (316-322) and are fifth in a field which includes three of the top four NCAA Division II teams and squads which have combined for the last 11 NCAA Division II national championships.
Bradley closes out play at the 13th annual Lady Moc Classic Tuesday with one round of play, beginning at 7:15 a.m. (CST).
