ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Senior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of Week according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday. Neufeld earned the honor for the second time this season and fifth time in her career.
Neufeld posted her second consecutive top-10 finish and her third of the year, finishing fourth at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland, Fla., in Bradley's first tournament of the spring. She shot a one-over par 73 in the final round and finished with her lowest 54-hole total (220) since shooting a 219 in September 2009.
Behind Neufeld's final-round performance, Bradley matched its season-best score of 301 in the final round to move into fourth place in the final team standings and post its fourth consecutive top-five team finish. The tournament field included three of the top four teams in the NCAA Division II rankings and squads which have combined for each of the last 11 NCAA Division II national championships.
Neufeld earned Valley Golfer of the Week honors for the fifth time in her career, joining Bari Erais (six-time selection) as the only five-time MVC Golfer of the Week winners in program history. In addition to moving into fourth place in career rounds at Bradley (102), she moved into a tie for sixth in career top 10 finishes (10) and third in career rounds in the 70's (61).
The Braves return to action March 4-6 at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
