NEW ORLEANS, La. -- A week after the Bradley women's cross country team received all-academic team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the Bradley men's cross country team received the same honor from the USTFCCCA.

The Braves finished the fall semester with a 3.28 cumulative grade point average and were one of 152 NCAA Division I teams with a 3.0 grade point average or better.

"I am very excited to see our men's team earn All-Academic status this fall," head coach Marc Burns said.  "Everyone takes a lot of pride in their academic success and they all work hard in the classroom.  We will maintain a big emphasis in our program on academic achievement as we continue to build the foundation for this team for the years to come."

Florida State was named the 2010 NCAA Division I USTFCCCA Men's Cross Country Scholar Team of the Year, while Mississippi Valley State turned in the highest grade point average in the nation.  A team must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA in order to be considered for the award.

In addition to its USTFCCCA award, the men's cross country team boasted 10 of 14 team members on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2010 Fall semester.
