Goldkamp Advances To 800 Finals; Braves Sixth In DMR

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) advanced to Sunday's final of the 800 meters and Bradley's distance medley relay team finished sixth to score the only points for the Braves during the first day of competition at the 2011 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.

Goldkamp ran the second fastest time and won her heat during Saturday's 800 prelims with a time of 2:13.66 and will compete in Sunday's finals in both the 800 meters and the mile.

Bradley scored its only points of the day in the distance medley relay with the group of freshmen Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria), Whitney Schumacher (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly), junior Michelle Hartman (Savanna, Ill. /Prince of Peace) and senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) finishing sixth in a time of 12:31.65.

Senior Jaclyn Gonzales (Fullerton, Calif./Union) also helped highlight the first day of competition for the Braves, clocking a season-best time of 31.90 in the 200 meters.

The final day of competition at the 2011 State Farm MVC Indoor Track and Field Championship begins Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the UNI-Dome.
