ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bradley women's tennis team opened its spring season with a 7-0 loss to Saint Louis Friday at the St. Clair Indoor Tennis Club in the first of a season-opening five-match road swing.
Bradley (0-1 overall) lost the doubles point to the Billikens (3-0 overall) with SLU taking all three doubles matches. Senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) and freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) fell 8-6 in #1 doubles. At #2 doubles, freshman Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) and Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) also dropped an 8-6 decision.
Miller helped highlight singles play, falling 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles, while McDonagh fell by the same score to Jenny Nalepa at #3 singles.
The Braves return to action Saturday, facing Southeast Missouri State at 11 a.m. in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
