LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - Senior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) shot even-par 72 and Bradley had three individuals shoot rounds in the 70's on the opening day of play at the NAU Lumberjack Shootout at the Wigwam Resort's par-72 Heritage Course.  The Braves finished the day ninth in the team standings after shooting 309 Monday.

Neufeld's opening round 72 is her lowest round since shooting a season-best 70 back on Sept. 27 in the final round of the Badger Invitational.  She is tied for eighth after one day of play after carding her 64th career round in the 70's.  Neufeld is three shots behind individual leader Brittany Penny of Grand Canyon, who fired a three-under par 69 and holds a one-shot lead on the field heading into Tuesday's second round.

Sophomore Natalie Wisniewski (Williamsville, N.Y./South) carded a season-best 77 to open play and is tied for 31st in the 82-person field.  Junior Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) turned in an opening-round 78 for her team-leading 20th round in the 70's.  Amundrud, who is the first player in program history with 20 or more rounds in the 70's in two different seasons, is tied for 43rd overall.

Junior Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) and senior Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) finished the day tied for 68th after both shot rounds of 82 Monday.  Freshman Ali Daly (Peosta, Iowa (Western Dubuque) is in the field as an individual and is tied for 77th after a first-round 85.

Tournament-host and 86th-ranked Northern Arizona shot a one-under par 287 to pace the 14-team field in the opening round.  Tarleton State is second at 293 and 64th-ranked Indiana is third overall at 296.  Eastern Michigan and Grand Canyon finished the opening day tied for fourth at 298 and hold a three-shot lead on sixth-place Florida International (301).

Akron closed Monday's action in seventh (302) with Northern Colorado following in eighth at 306.  Bradley is three shots back in ninth at 309 and holds a two-shot advantage on 10th-place British Columbia.  McNeese State finished the day in 11th at 314, while 98th-ranked Montana is 12th in the standings at 315.  Weber State and Portland round out the field in a tie for 13th at 321.
