ORLANDO, Fla. - The Bradley women's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip to Florida with a 7-0 loss to Coastal Carolina Wednesday.
Freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) dropped a three-set match at #2 singles to Diana Mortlock 4-6, 6-0, 10-4 to help highlight the loss which dropped the Braves to 2-11 on the season.
Senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) fell in a tightly contested contest at #1 singles by the score 6-4, 6-3 to Miki Bunea. At #3 singles, freshman Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) lost her opening set to Maria Hesketh 7-5 and fell 6-0 in the second set to help highlight singles action.
In doubles play, the duo of Rodefeld and freshman Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) fell 8-4 at #2 doubles and the Bradley combo of Henke and Miller suffered an 8-3 setback at #1 doubles as Coastal Carolina (11-3 overall) picked up its fourth consecutive victory.
The Braves open a season-long, three-match homestand Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against Western Michigan.
