JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior Coby Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) is tied for first after shooting a one-over par 73 and the Bradley men's golf team is second after 18 holes at the Bulldog Florida Invitational being played at the par-72 Windsor Parke Golf Club.
Thompson is tied atop the individual standings after an opening-round 73 and was one of three Braves to card sub-80 rounds Wednesday. Complete individual standings were unavailable Wednesday night.
Freshman Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) is two shots behind Thompson at 75 after firing his lowest round of the spring. Fellow freshman Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) shot a 77, while sophomore Corey Verseman (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) rounded out the team scoring with an opening round 82.
Wisconsin-Green Bay is first in the team standings and finished the day five shots ahead of Bradley with a 302 Wednesday. The Braves are second at 307 and hold a two-shot edge on tournament host Butler, which closed the day in third at 309. Eastern Illinois is fourth in the field at 312.
Bradley closes out play at the Bulldog Florida Invitational Wednesday with one round of play beginning at 9:30 a.m. (CDT).
