PEORIA, Ill. -- Freshman Adele Henke (Edina, Minn./Edina) picked up her team leading sixth singles win of the spring and fellow freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) won at #2 singles for the second straight outing to highlight a 5-2 loss to Eastern Illinois for the Bradley women's tennis Friday afternoon at the Clubs at River City.
Henke was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over Jennifer Kim at #4 singles and Rodefeld posted a 6-4, 6-2 victory against Merrit Whitley at #2 singles for Bradley's (2-8 overall) two points in the match. Henke also teamed with senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Height's, Ill./ Glenbard West) for an 8-4 win at #1 doubles.
Miller took her opening set at #1 singles 6-4, before EIU's Janelle Prisner rallied to take the final two sets 6-4, 6-1. Freshman Meredith McDonagh (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision at #4 singles.
Eastern Illinois (3-3 overall) took two of three doubles matches to claim the point.
Bradley returns to action Sunday, facing UMKC at 2 p.m. at the Clubs at River City.
