Walsh Earns Win At Illinois Junior Golf Association Event

Women?s Golf Finishes 15th At Rio Verde Invitational

RIO VERDE, Ariz. - Junior Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) shot a second-round 75 and senior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Kate Andrews) carded a 76 Sunday to help highlight the final day of play for the Bradley women's golf team at the Rio Verde Invitational.

The Braves matched their second-round total with a 314 during Sunday's final round at the Rio Verde Country Club's par-72 White Wing Course and finished 15th in the field with a 54-hole total of 951.

Amundrud shot 75 for the second straight day and tied for 16th overall at 230.  She was 12 shots behind individual medalist Catherine Dolan of Missouri State (218) and finished three shots out of the top 10.

Neufeld saved her best for last, carding her lowest round of the tournament with a four-over 76 Sunday to tie for 30th at 235.  Senior Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) fired an 83 on the last day to finish in a tie 57th at 241, while sophomore Natalie Wisniewski (Williamsville, N.Y./South) was four shots back at 245 (T67th) after a final round 80.  Junior Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) rounded out the scoring for BU with an 83 and was 81st at 256.

Eastern Michigan held off Northern Arizona for the team title, finishing with a three-round total of 910.  Northern Arizona shot 300 Sunday to finish one shot back in second at 911 with Michigan slipping into third (913).  Missouri State shot the best round of the day (299) to close out play in fourth (923) and Penn State rounded out the top five at 925.

Akron was two shots ahead of 48th-ranked Arkansas-Little Rock in sixth at 931 with the Trojans following in seventh at 933.  Toledo and Cincinnati tied for eighth (935), while Ball State followed in 10th (939).  Southern Illinois and Western Michigan finished in a tie for 11th at 942 with Xavier two shots back in 13th (944).  Texas A&M Corpus Christi was five shots ahead of Bradley in the standings in 14th at 946 and the Braves followed in 15th at 951.  Ohio shot 1,000 to finish 16th and Bowling Green completed the field in 17th (1,018).

Bradley returns to Arizona during spring break, playing in the Northern Arizona Lumberjack Shootout in Litchfield Park, Ariz., March 14-16.
