PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's tennis team concludes the 2010-11 regular season on the road, finishing up a three-match road swing with matches at Evansville (Friday) and Southern Illinois (Saturday). Friday's match at Evansville is scheduled for 5 p.m. while Saturday's match with Southern Illinois is slated for 1 p.m.
The Braves (3-17 overall, 0-5 MVC) were shorthanded for the third consecutive match as they dropped a 7-0 decision at Wichita State this past weekend. Freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) could not continue her winning ways as she dropped her #2 singles match 6-0, 6-2.
Senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) also highlighted play with a 6-3, 6-1 loss at # 1 singles. Miller remains one win shy of joining Ashley Morris as the only players in school history with 50 career wins in doubles and singles.
Evansville (10-7 overall, 2-3 MVC) and Southern Illinois (9-12 overall, 1-4 MVC) both dropped matches against Drake and Northern Iowa last weekend. The Purple Aces snapped a three-match losing skid with a victory against Southern Indiana Wednesday.
Bradley will take part in the 2011 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship beginning next Friday, April 29th, at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo.
