OMAHA, Neb. -- Senior Nicole Miller (Glendale Heights, Ill./Glenbard West) picked up her team leading 9th singles win of the spring and earned Bradley's lone point in a 6-1 loss at Missouri Valley Conference foe Creighton Sunday afternoon.
Miller won her match against Anna Kirshenbaum at #1 singles 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 to move into a tie with Cindy Schneider for fourth on Bradley's career wins list with her 101st career victory (singles & doubles). Miller earned her 49th career singles victory, while improving to 2-0 at #1 singles in Missouri Valley Conference play.
Freshman Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) also helped highlight singles play with a three-set loss at # 2 singles. Rodefeld took the opening set 6-2, before Creighton's Analese Snyder rallied to take the final two sets 6-0, 6-3.
Bradley fall to 3-14 overall and 0-2 in MVC play, while Creighton improved to 10-5 overall and even its league record at 1-1 with the win.
The Braves return home Saturday, hosting Northern Iowa at 3 p.m. before facing Drake Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Markin Tennis Courts in the final home matches of the 2010-11 season.
