EUGENE, Ore. -- Senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) closed out her collegiate career with a 21st place finish in the 1,500 meter finals at the NCAA Track & Field West Regional Saturday.
Running in the first of two heats in the 1,500 meter regional finals, Goldkamp was 11th in her heat and 21st overall with a time of 4:27.04. She advanced to the regional finals Thursday by breaking her own school record in the event, clocking a 4:23.18 in the prelimaries.
Goldkamp missed qualifying for the NCAA national semifinals by 3.60 seconds. Utah's Amanda Mergaert turned in the fastest time Saturday, winning the opening heat with a time of
4:16.57.
