Bradley Offering Distance Running Camp In July

PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley cross country/track and field teams will be offering a distance running camp July 26-30 for boys and girls aged 12-18.  The camp is designed to educate young student-athletes on how to become better distance runners and leaders.

Both overnight and day camp packages are available and the camp will include training at Jubliee State Park, Farmdale State Park and Detweiller Park, home of the Illinois State High School Cross Country Championships.  For more information or to reserve a spot please contact camp director Marc Burns at 309-677-2643 or mburns@bradley.edu. 

"We are thrilled to be hosting the 2011 Bradley Distance Running Camp at Bradley University," said Bradley cross country/track & field head coach Marc Burns.  "The camp is a great opportunity to learn what it takes to be the best distance runner you can be and have fun while you are doing it.  Our camp is unique because we also focus on helping you learn what it means to be a leader on your team.  Come join us for a great week of running at the Bradley Distance Running Camp." 
 
The camp will include flexibility and running form drills in addition to bio-mechanical analysis of running forms.  Bradley cross country/track and field coaches Marc Burns and Matt Esche will serve as instructors during the camp which will also include special guest speaker and 2004 Olympian Tim Broe. 

Bradley University camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants, in accordance with the NCAA camps and clinics legislation (limited only by number, age, grade level, and/or gender)
