HANOVER, N.H. - Led by Goalkeeper MVP Brian Billings (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's), Bradley placed three players on the Dartmouth Classic All-Tournament Team after a runner-up finish in the four-team event.
Though Bradley (4-0-2) and host Dartmouth both finished the tournament with 1-0-1 records, the Big Green claimed the championship by virtue of goal differential. Bradley finished with a +1 differential following a 2-1 overtime win Friday versus #8 South Florida and a 2-2 tie Sunday versus South Carolina. Dartmouth claimed a +2 goal differential based on a 2-0 win Friday versus South Carolina and a 3-3 tie Sunday versus USF.
Billings was joined on the 11-player Dartmouth Classic All-Tournament Team by Bradley teammates Jochen Graf (Double Oak, Texas/Faustina Academy) and Ross Williams (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.). Graf scored the game-winning goal 35 seconds into overtime Friday night versus USF and Williams netted his first career goal in the 73rd minute Sunday versus South Carolina to give the Braves a 2-1 lead.
The Braves will return home to host Memphis, Loyola-Chicago and Evansville in the Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic next weekend at Shea Stadium. Bradley will face Memphis Friday at 7 p.m. and Loyola-Chicago at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
