PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore men's cross country runner Nathan Davis (Lewistown, Ill./Lewistown) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after finishing fifth at last week's season-opening Bradley Open.
Davis was Bradley's second finisher, crossing the line 17 seconds behind the 6K race winner and teammate Marshall Moyer (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington). Davis took fifth overall at 20:17, finishing 10 seconds out of the top three. A political science major, Davis owns a 3.80 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Davis and the Braves are back in action Friday, running at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships in Normal, Ill.
