WATERLOO, Iowa – The Bradley women's tennis team
enjoyed a strong finish at the UNI Invitational Sunday as the Braves combined
for a 4-3 record in the final day of the 10-team tournament.
Freshman Cassia
Wojtalik won the consolation final in the #4 Bronze Singles bracket, while Carly Miles, Corey Mattson and Elizabeth
Przystawski also won their final matches of the tournament. Wojtalik rallied for a 3-set victory in her
final, knocking off Green Bay's Becca Nelson, 3-6, 6-2, 10-6.
In the #4 Bronze bracket 3rd-Place match,
Przystawski cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 win against Drake's Earlynn Lauer. In another 3rd-place match, Miles knocked off
Green Bay's Jennifer Bradfield (6-3, 6-4) in the consolation side of the #1
Platinum Singles bracket, while Mattson won her 5th-place match in the
consolation side of the #2 Gold Singles bracket by gutting out a 7-5, 6-7, 10-5
win against Green Bay's Morgan Weuve.
The Braves will have a week off before returning
to Waterloo Oct. 7-9 for the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships. Bradley will wrap up the fall season Oct.
20-23 in Tulsa, Okla., at the ITA Regionals.
