PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore forward Wojciech Wojcik (Elmwood Park, Ill./Elmwood Park) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after scoring the game-winning goal in Bradley's 1-0 win at Western Illinois last week.
Wojcik provided the only goal in BU's 1-0 victory against the Leathernecks, heading in Marcus Schademann's (Lincoln, Neb./St. Pius X) service in the 83rd for his first goal of the year. The goal was Wojcik's third career goal and second career game-winner. Enrolled in Bradley's award-winning Academic Exploration Program, Wojcik owns a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
Wojcik and the Braves return to action Saturday, facing Massachusetts at noon in Amherst, Mass.
