PEORIA, Ill. - The Bradley women's tennis team will open their 2012 spring schedule this weekend when the Braves travel to Chicago for matches Saturday (3:30 p.m.) against Milwaukee and Sunday (9 a.m.) at Chicago State.

After participating in five individual tournaments during the fall, the Braves will play their first dual match of the year Saturday against the Panthers.  Bradley is 5-7 all-time against Milwaukee in a series that dates back to a 7-2 Panthers win Feb. 20, 1999.  Bradley won five straight decisions against the Panthers from 2001-05, but after taking a year off in the series, Milwaukee has won each of the last five dual meetings.

Bradley boasts a 9-3 all-time dual record against Chicago State, though the Cougars have won the last two meetings by similar 4-3 scores in 2008 and 2010.

With 12 players on the 2011-12 roster, Bradley's squad is the largest in program history, but it also is one of the youngest with six freshmen and four sophomores.  Freshman Cassia Wojtalik posted the top singles record in the fall by going 6-8, while fellow freshman Elizabeth Przystawski went 5-7.

Looking ahead, the Braves will host three dual matches next weekend at the Clubs at River City:  Feb. 3 versus Saint Louis, Feb. 4 vs. SIU Edwardsville and Feb. 5 against Northern Illinois.
