Box Score

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Junior Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) scored 14 of her team-high 19 points in the second half and also dished out four assists after the break, but Drake freshman Kyndal Clark scored 17 second-half points to help power Drake to a 77-62 victory Friday at the Knapp Center.

Bradley (11-9 overall, 2-6 MVC) got off to a hot start scoring the first nine points of the game, but turnovers and foul trouble allowed Drake (11-8 overall, 5-3 MVC) to take control of the contest.

The Bulldogs pulled even at 17-17 nearing the eight-minute mark in the first half and the Braves went six minutes and 20 seconds in the first half without a field goal as Drake pushed the lead to as many as seven points in the opening stanza.

BU committed 12 first-half turnovers and finished the night with 22 turnovers, while the Bulldogs also capitalized on Bradley's foul trouble by making 26-of-32 free throw attempts in the contest.

After Drake extended the advantage to as many as 12 points (41-29) early in the second half, Yohn helped spark a 9-0 BU spurt with a jumper from the elbow and one of her three 3-point baskets to help Bradley pull within three (41-38) with 12:34 to play.

The Braves were down five points with nine minutes to play and the Drake lead stood at 57-50 nearing the five-minute mark after a Kelly Frings (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) steal and layup when the Bulldogs put the game out of reach.

Clark went coast-to-coast for a layup and followed a Bradley hoop with her team's only three-pointer of the game as Drake pushed the lead to 67-54 with 2:40 remaining.  The Bulldogs made 9-of-10 free throws in the final two minutes to seal the win as Drake extended its home win streak to seven consecutive games.

Yohn made 5-of-9 shots from the field in the second half and finished with a team-high 19 points and four assists to move up two spots into 17th on BU's career scoring list.  She pushed her career point total to 934 points, surpassing Jen Jenn Jolley (920 points) and Des Moines, Iowa, native Ashley Chelleen (925 points) on Bradley's all-time scoring chart.

Senior Leah Kassing (Mt. Sterling, Ill./Brown County) pushed her streak of consecutive games in double figures scoring to 10 games with 13 points despite being plagued with foul trouble most of the contest.

Drake's Rachael Hackbarth entered the game as the leading scorer and rebounder in the Missouri Valley Conference and finished with 23 points and 13 boards for her conference leading 12th double-double of the year.  Clark added 17 points, while Brittnye McSparron (11 points) and Amber Wollschlager (10 points) were also in double figures.

Bradley closes out a three-game Valley road swing Sunday with a 2 p.m. game at Creighton.  WIRL 1290 AM will broadcast the game from Omaha, Neb., with the pre-game show starting at 1:40 p.m.
