OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Sophomore Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) fired a season-best 72 and tied for 16th to help lead the Bradley men's golf team to a tie for 12th-place at the Bill Ross Intercollegiate Tuesday.

Masrin matched par at the par-72 Milburn Golf & Country Club in the final round of the Bill Ross Intercollegiate, helping Bradley move up one spot in the final team standings into a tie with Utah State for 12th.  Bradley's season-best round of 301 gave the Braves (910) a five-shot advantage on 14th-place Creighton (915).

The final-round 72 by Masrin matched the lowest round of the year by a BU golfer and helped him crack the top 20 for the first time this season.  He tied for 16th overall at 221, finishing two shots out of the top 10.

Junior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) followed up a season-best 74 with a 77 Tuesday to finish six shots back of Masrin in a tie for 42nd (227).  Sophomore Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) tied for 62nd at 231, wrapping up the tournament with a two-over par 74.

Junior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) matched Trolia's three-round score of 231 to tie for 62nd, shooting a final-round 78, while junior Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) closed out the scoring for Bradley with a third-round 82 to tie for 75th overall at 242.

Tournament-host UMKC claimed the team title by three shots with a 54-hole score of 870 to edge second-place North Dakota State (873).  Arkansas State rounded out the top three at 881 behind medalist Easton Key (210) and was followed by Missouri State (886) in fourth.

SIU Edwardsville was four back in fifth at 890, with Oral Roberts and Northern Iowa tying for sixth at 893.  Nebraska-Omaha finished eighth overall (898), finishing one shot ahead of ninth-place Western Illinois (899).  Drake and South Dakota tied for 10th at 904, six shots better than Utah State and Bradley, which tied for 12th (910).  Creighton completed the field in 14th at 915.

The Braves wrap up the 2012 Fall schedule Oct. 28-30 at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, S.C.
