Junior defensive midfielder Keegan Balle (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley H.S.) became the Bradley Soccer program's ninth All-American when he was named to the Fourth Team All-America squad by the CollegeSportsMadness.com website.
Balle, who also was named the CSM Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year, led the Braves with 18 points and shared the team lead with seven goals, while helping to direct the team's defensive effort from his defensive midfield position.
The ninth Bradley Soccer player to earn All-America status in program history, Balle is the first Braves All-American since defender Joe Donoho was recognized by CollegeSoccerNews.com (2nd team), NSCAA/adidas (3rd team) and TopDrawerSoccer.com (Honorable Mention) in 2007.
Balle will enter the 2013 season as Bradley's active leader with 33 career points, 12 goals and four game-winning tallies. His play has helped the Braves to the 2010 MVC Tournament title, two NCAA Tournament appearances and three straight seasons with at least 10 victories – 36-21-9 (.614) overall. He is one of 20 lettermen returning for the 2013 Bradley squad, a group that includes nine of the team's top 10 scorers and 12 of the 15 players who recorded at least one point from the 2012 campaign.
