KALAMAZOO, Mich. -  The Bradley women's tennis team earned its first dual match victory of the season, downing Oakland, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the West Hills Athletic Club.

The Braves (1-5) received a pair of dominating performances from freshman Corey Mattson (Mequon, Wis./Homestead H.S.), who teamed with sophomore Sarah Rodefeld (Carmel, Ind./Carmel H.S.) for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles then breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles against Grizzlies freshman Brittany Baxter.  Rodefeld, meanwhile, earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles against OU senior Caitlin Young.

Bradley swept the three doubles matches as Carly Miles and Adele Henke pulled out an 8-7 win at No. 2 doubles by taking the tie-breaker, 11-9.  Meredith McDonagh and Elizabeth Przystawski teamed for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

Henke (No. 2), McDonagh (No. 4) and Miles (No. 6) all earned straight-set singles victories.

The Braves will play a pair of matches Sunday, first visiting Western Michigan in a 8 a.m. (CST) contest at the West Hills Athletic Club, before heading to the Chicagoland area for a 3:30 contest versus Valparaiso at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
