PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's golf team opens its spring schedule at the Lady Moc Invitational in Lakeland, Fla., for the second consecutive year. The Braves open play in the 54-hole tournament at the par-72, 6,225-yard Club at Eaglebrooke Monday with 36 holes and close out play with one round Tuesday.
Bradley opened the 2011 Spring schedule at the Lady Moc Invitational last year, finishing fourth in the event hosted by NCAA Division II power Florida Southern. Senior Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) finished 11th at last year's event, carding rounds of 78, 78 and 75.
The Braves wrapped up the fall schedule in Fort Myers, Fla., at the Pat Bradley Invitational and ended the fall on a high note by carding the three lowest rounds of the season during the 54-hole event at Pelican Preserve Golf & Country Club.
Freshman Christie Lin (Calgary, Alberta/Sir John G Diefenbaker) was the team's top performer in the fall, owning a team-best 77.7 stroke average and team-leading 12 rounds in the 70's. BU's top finisher in three events in the fall, Lin's third-round 74 at the Payne Stewart Memorial is the lowest round of the year by a Brave.
Despite battling injuries most of the fall, Amundrud posted a 77.8 stroke average in four of the team's five tournaments and hopes to close out her career as the only player in program history to average lower than 78.0 strokes per round in each of her four years on The Hilltop.
Freshman Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) was the team's top finisher in two tournaments and is third on the squad with a 78.2 stroke average. Hedemann was second on the team with 11 rounds in the 70's during the fall.
