GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- Sophomore Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) matched a season-low with a 72 and was one of four Bradley individuals to shoot 75 or better on the final day of play at the Snowman Getaway to help the Braves to a 12th-place finish in the field.
Freshman Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) fired a 74 during Tuesday's action at the par-72 Palm Valley Golf Club, while sophomore Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) and freshman Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) both carded 75's to help Bradley close out play with a final-round 296.
Bradley's 296 was the team's second lowest round of the year and the team's 54-hole total of 915 was the lowest since finishing with a 911 at the UMKC Invitational Oct. 18 & 19, 2010. The Braves opening round 298 and Tuesday's 296 gave BU two sub-300 rounds in the same tournament for the first time since closing out the 2008 D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate with scores of 291 and 298.
Trolia was Bradley's top finisher, tying for 29th at 225 and was three shots out of the top 15. Kreiter's final round 72 helped him finish one shot behind Trolia in a tie for 35th (226) as the pair helped pace the Braves.
Young turned in his best round of the tournament Tuesday, firing a 75 to tie for 68th (234) and Masrin matched Young's 75 to climb into a tie for 74th (236). Sophomore Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) tied for 79th in the field at 240, shooting a third-round 82.
UMKC held on to claim the team title with a three-round total of 877, shooting a final-round 285 to hold off second-place finisher Missouri State (878). UNC-Greensboro was three back of UMKC in third at 890 with British Columbia and St. John's tying for fourth in the 16-team field at 891.
Bradley was 12th in the team standings at 915, finishing one back of 11th-place Gonzaga (914). The Braves were 16 shots better than 13th-place Seattle (931) and had a 20-shot edge on 14th-place North Dakota (935).
